Hollywood actor, John Rhys-Davies is to officially open the 7th CAMRA Isle of Man Beer and Cider Festival on Thursday, 12th April. The festival is being staged, as last year, in the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall from 12th to 14th of April. John’s films include the Lord of the Rings trilogy in which he played the part of Gimli, the Indiana Jones films and in the James Bond film The Living Daylights. TV credits include Shogun and I, Claudius. In February he was the subject of an internet fake death report that swept the world via Facebook and Twitter.
This year’s festival will feature over 150 real ales, 40+ ciders, perries and fruit wines, so there will be something on offer to suit everyone’s taste. Food will be available throughout the festival and the Grand National will be screened on Saturday.
Tickets for the festival have been pegged at last year’s price of £5 and are now on sale at the Villa-Gaiety box offices, the Welcome centre at the sea terminal and on-line.
